Dueling Ads: Chico v. Emanuel on the "Rahm Tax"

Why would Rahm Emanuel's campaign bother responding to Chico's ad if they are as far ahead as we have every reason to believe they are?

dana / February 4, 2011 7:03 PM

Because Chico is lying to scare up votes.

Lee / February 4, 2011 7:08 PM

Because the truth matters? Chico's distortions certainly won't help to get Rahm's plan passed, and now is the time to educate the public about better tax policy. Yes, the politics of the election are exciting, but remember, this is about more than an election. The election is just a benchmark on the way to implementing a new vision for Chicago.

These ads are there because both camps know that there out of the voting population a large number of number are not as informed as they should be to make such a monumental decision as mayor. Also, a lot of these people tend to watch a fair amount of television.

In a perfect world it these adds should at most get people to look in the issue more.
