So I'm reading my December Esquire and I come across the quote, "The hypothesis I put forward was that the reason crime had fallen was because of legalized abortion in the 1970s. Basically, we had aborted the generation of criminals who would have been active in the 1990s." And I think, well that's a very University of Chicago thing to say. I'm guessing U of C economics professor Steven Levitt, who is featured as one of the magazine's "Best and Brightest", would agree.
