Opening is XYZR_KX (pronounced “Scissor Kicks”), a solo project by Jon Monteverde of local bands Smell and What Now, My Love. Monteverde has a long-standing blog, including an insightful post on the bias apparent in major reviews of Intonation. Between these two groups is The Ebb and Flow, a San Francisco-based band.
