On May 7th and 10th, Open Books partnered with Chicago Public Schools and took their volunteer Reading Buddies and Booksmobile to several elementary schools to offer pop-up book fairs to eager young readers who had participated in the program all year and achieved their literacy goals. That these are students who don't often get to enjoy the gift of a new book only sweetened the deal and, as the photos show, enthusiasm never waned, rain or shine.
