Asian American Jazz Festival

Hothouse is hosting the Asian American Jazz Festival this Friday and Saturday night. Day one features performers with "a connection to the Far East," including the Gomong Monk Project, William Roper's "Purple Gums," the Jeff Chan Quartet and the Jonathan Chen Band. "Psycho" at Soldier Field

Unless you've got a ticket to watch the Bears, this is the only way you're getting in to see the newly "renovated" Soldier Field this year. This Fall festival features carnival rides, hay rides, games and food outside the stadium, and Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller "Psycho" at 7:30pm. on the stadium's two huge screens. Tiki Party @ Quimby's

Chicago author and tiki collector Duke Carter signs copies of his new book, "Tiki Quest: Collecting the Exotic Past," at Quimby's Bookstore, 1854 W. North Ave., at 7:30pm. Akram Khan Company

Kaash, the Hindi word for if, explores the forces of creation and destruction--from the power of Hindu gods to the black holes of modern physics. Come to the Museum of Contemporary Art this weekend as Akram Khan and his dancers perform to a mesmerizing score by BBC Radio award-winning Nitin Sawhney. MCA Members $17, Public $22.
