P1xel and the Chronic Network's first concert film @
Doc Films. February 24 (Tuesday) at 9:15pm.
Stand Up! for Choice
Think feminists have no sense of humor? Chicago's Planned Parenthood chapter says "ha!" to that, with
an evening of stand-up comedy to raise money for the
March for Women's Lives. Scheduled laugh-mongers include Deb Downing, Will Durst, Emily Dorezas, and Aaron Freeman. At the Park West, 322 W. Armitage, 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 ($10 with student ID).
Paczki @ Ann Sather's
Ann Sather's, 929 W. Belmont, is serving up a Fat Tuesday delicacy: paczki. Pronounced "punch-key,"
paczki are decadent cream-filled donuts and are part of the traditional Polish celebration of the last day before Lent. They'll be selling paczki for $1.25 each starting at 7 a.m. until supplies run out. (And of course customers can still get Ann Sather's famous cinnamon rolls, another perfect Mardi Gras food.)
