Lollapalooza

If you haven't heard about Lollapalooza's return to Chicago this weekend, then you've likely been under a rock. The now three-day festival will feature over 130 bands on 8 stages, improv groups, freaky clowns, and artists. Music highlights include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, Common, The Flaming Lips, Ween, Wilco, and, yeah, a ton of others you'll likely want to catch. Check out the map, here (the festival runs all the way from Butler Field down to the softball fields where it was held last year). Tickets are $150 for a 3-day pass, or $65 for 1 day. (Before you go, check out our breakdown on Transmission.)

Bustle in Your Hedgerow @ Abbey Pub

It's always nice when a "Zepplin tribute" doesn't involve a dank sportsbar and a bowl of moldy peanuts. It's especially great when that "Zep Experience" is Bustle in Your Hedgerow: a now annual tradition of bringing together exquisite musicians to jam late into the night on Zep tunes. This year's lineup again sports a tremendous quartet of guys, some of which you can hear earlier that day at Lollapalooza. At the center of the Experience are Marco Benevento and Joe Russo (of the Benevento-Russo Duo), along with Dave Dreiwitz (of Ween) and Scott Metzger (of Rana and Particle). Show starts at 11pm. Tickets are $20 (adv.) and $25 at the door, and it's 18+. The Abbey Pub is located at 3420 W. Elston (at Grace), Chicago.

Wizard World Chicago

Today is the fourth day of Wizard World Chicago, a four-day event for movie, comic, anime, and gaming fans. Donald E. Stephens Convention Center (5555 N. River Road, Rosemont); click here for a complete list of events and to purchase tickets.
