Funny Ha-Ha @ Hideout

Tonight the winter installment of Funny Ha-Ha, Chicago's humor literature reading series, happens at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia). Hosted by Claire Zulkey, tonight's reading features a performance by Schadenfreude and readings from Zulkey, RedEye columnist Mark Bazer, Chicago Tribune advice columnist Amy Dickinson, and the Dollar Store's Jonathan Messinger. The reading begins tonight at 7:00. Admission is a suggested $5 (proceeds donated to the Neighborhood Writing Alliance).

Richard Nickel's Chicago: Photographs of a Lost City

The Chicago Architecture Foundation welcomes authors Richard Cahan and Michael Williams as they discuss their new book of collected Richard Nickel photographs. Nickel's work has covered the city during the 50's, 60's and 70's and his vision has done well to preserve our great architecture. Free at 12:15pm. The Casablanca committee of Chicago Sister Cities International presents this recreation of a traditional Moroccan marketplace, "featuring beautiful, authentic items from Morocco."
