Black Beach at Gojangle1
It just got a whole lot sexier this holiday season: Go check out local garage-y types Black Beach rock out with their Christmas spirit out when they play at Gojangle1 (3407 N. Clark St., above Fiesta Cantina bar). Expect the sexiness to increase by leaps and bounds when they're joined by Sylis Assigned, Pyrite, Casket Architecture, and Mr. Russia. The whole shebang is Thursday, Dec. 21 at 9 p.m., and will only take $6 out of your pocket.
Lit Gangs of Chicago: Powell's North
This month, the Museum of Contemporary Art hosts Powell's North in their Literary Gangs of Chicago series. Powell's North pairs an established poet, fiction or non-fiction writer from around the nation with emerging local writers and this special reading features poet Lisa Fishman.
