Dave Alvin and the Guity Men plus Anna Fermin's Trigger Gospel @ Fitzgerald's

The Yes! Yes! Valentine's Day Show

Explore the journey of falling in love -- the highs, the risks and the dangers of throwing yourself into something new. Big Theater presents The Yes! Yes! Valentine's Day Show at Swim Cafe, a daunting endeavor for those involved as the show will be created a mere 24 hours before it opens. Keeping the creation process fast-paced and unpredictable helps capture the volatile feelings that encompass love. The Animation Show 3 @ Music Box

The Music Box presents the third annual Animation Show, a program of short animated films. This movie explores the phenomenon of getting fired by following actress-writer Annabelle Gurwitch as she talks with friends, celebrities, professionals, and pundits. Off-Loop Theater Sampler Tour

Do you like trolley rides, food, and live entertainment? Sign up for one of the The League of Chicago Theaters Sampler Tours! Today's tour starts downtown at the Chicago Tourism Center (72 E. Randolph) at 2:30 pm, followed by a trolley ride to Chicago Dramatists (1105 W. Chicago) to see a scene from Feast, a work in progress, followed by live radio theater at Strawdog in Lakeview, then dinner at Joey's Brickhouse, a full-length performance of The House Theater's sold-out hit, The Sparrow, then back on the trolley to downtown. Around The Coyote Winter Arts Festival

Once again hundreds of painters, photographers, sculptors, actors, performance artists, poets, and filmmakers exhibit and sell their work in various galleries around the Milwaukee-North-Damen six corners in Wicker Park. Redglaer [sic] @ Enemy, Wicker Park

Los Angeles experimental music staple Bob Bellerue brings his lo-fi drone project Redglaer to Wicker Park's Enemy space Saturday (1550 N. Milwaukee Ave, 9 p.m., $5 suggested donation). Bellerue is best known for projects Halfnormal and Feed The Dragon. Redglaer's sound is immersive and meticulous, "Ions seduced by sunspots." Three Chicago-based experimental/noise acts will fill out the night: Shattered Hymen, Jason Soliday, and Burrow, an ad hoc pairing of Vertonen and Is.

The Poetry of Our Times @ U of C International House
