Lady Snowblood @ Sonotheque

The Chicago Psychotronic Film Society and SONOTHEQUE continue the film series, ASIAN EXTREME: THE HIDDEN SIDE OF ASIAN SINEMA with the amazing woman-on-a-rampage film -- LADY SNOWBLOOD (Directed by Toshiya Fujita, 1973).

Mario Batali Book Signing @ Fox & Obel

From 2 to 3 pm, Mario Batali will be signing copies of his book Molto Italiano. There will also be a tasting of La Mozza wines, Batali's collaborative venture with Lidia and Joe Bastianich, and dishes prepared from recipes in the book. Joe Colley & Jason Lescalleet @ Odum

Joe Colley & Jason Lescalleet, two experimental musicians who work with tape loops and malfunctioning equipment, will bring their surreal soundscapes to Odum (2116 W. Chicago) on Friday and Saturday. Friday night's show will be solo performances; Saturday night will be performed as a collaborative duo. $12 for one night admission, and if you attend Friday night's show, you get in on Saturday for free. Go-go dance workshop @ Old Town School

The Old Town School of Folk Music presents the latest in its series of one-day workshops for people who want to learn an instrument, musical style, or type of dance without having to sign up for a full term's worth of classes. This afternoon's workshop is a go-go dance workshop taught by Tina Stasny, from Chicago's own go-go dance troupe The Janes. Celebrate joy, love, and good vibrations with the "Sunny Side Up" residency at Darkroom. March 10th, 2007 commemorates the 14th year anniversary of the death of Dr. David Gunn at the hands of an anti-choice, "pro-life" extremist. Since 1996, pro choice advocates have begun to claim this day National Day of Appreciation For Abortion Providers and have turned this day of mourning into a day of remembrance of our losses, mobilizations for activism and celebration for our gains.

The event promises to be "celebratory, informative and yummy" and has been organized byChicago Abortion Fund and Pomegranate Health
Collective.

Celebrate! will consist of:
A Bake Sale (Peanut Free and Allergy Sensitive!)/A Cake Walk with cakes donated from local bakeries and bakers/A Raffle with donations from Women and Children First Bookstore, Early To Bed, Chicago Women's Liberation Union Herstory Project, local artists and more!/Performers and Speakers/Short Films relating to abortion rights and choice/Stress Relief Acupuncture/lots of information to browse and cards to send to abortion clinics and doctors!

SXSW Showcase @ Hideout
