Lets Talk About Sex Conference

From May 31-June 3 Sistersong Presents, "Let's Talk About Sex" 2nd National Conference and 10th Anniversary @ Wyndham Hotel, 6810 N. Mannheim Road, Rosemont. Workshops and plenaries will cover "birth control, senior sexuality, STDs, microbicides, gynecological health and wellness, erotica, militarism, and more, all through a reproductive justice lens." Sonic Celluloid

Northwestern's esteemed Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art and freeform college radio station WNUR have teamed up again for the 4th annual Sonic Celluoid. The event pairs live musical performances with silent, experimental films. This year's event features a wide spectrum of performers, from the noise-driven compositions of Panicsville and the oft-improvised collaobrations of Binges to the quiet stark melodies of Phil Elvrum's Mount Eerie. Admission is $10. The films start at 8:00pm. Check out the Block Museum for more info.

The Sea and Cake CD release show @ Empty Bottle

Recently, Gaper's Block's Transmission caught up with local sweethearts The Sea and Cake to discuss the release of the band's first release in four years, Everybody. Tonight, TSAC celebrates the new album with everyone, playing two shows at The Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave. Both shows are $18 adv / $20 dos. The 7p show features Euphone in the opening slot, while TSAC's Thrill Jockey labelmates The Zincs take over those duties for the 10p show.

I-GO Audio Emissions @ Metro

I-GO Car Sharing celebrates the release of its I-GO Audio Emissions CD with a benefit show tonight at the Metro, 3730 N. Clark. The lineup includes: Detholz!, Palliard, Madison Buchanan, Animate Objects, Imelda de la Cruz, and DJ sets by Quantazelle and DJ Flawlezs. Regular tickets are $10 and include complimentary I-GO Audio Emissions CD, complimentary 1 year subscription to Time Out Chicago, gift bag and free bike valet; $20 VIP tickets get all that plus access to the VIP section with food from local restaurants and a chance to win a Dahon bike. Doors open at 6pm, music starts at 7pm. 21+

CunninLynguists @ US Beer Co

So many places to see good music in the city, and some things still sneak up on you. Perfect example: tonight, at the US Beer Company, CunninLynguists hit the stage. Tickets are $8 and are available through TicketMaster or direct at the US Beer Co box office .
