Tuesdays w/the Art Center

This Tuesday the Hyde Park Art Center opens its doors for an event both social and arty. Come by for hands-on art activities as well as coffee, tea, cookies and general socializing. This monthly series is open the public with $5 suggested donation and is held at 5020 S. Cornell Ave. from 1-2:30pm. For more information, call 773-324-5520.

In-Store PleasureWare Party @ Early to Bed

It's like your mom's Tupperware parties only, you know, much more exciting. Join the women of Early to Bed for an In-Store PleasureWare Party and take advantage of the chance to learn about all of their hottest toys and all the things you can do with them. Dating for Nerds

Come to Guthries Tavern tonight to meet smarty, geeky singles at Dating for Nerds, where there will be Pictionary, Scrabble, Clue, Taboo and other board games to stimulate your intellect and break the ice. You may even win a Shakespeare action figure, superhero postage stamp or King Kong pencil while you're there. Admission is $20 in advance, $25 at the door and includes one drink. 7pm-10pm at 1300 W. Bistro 110: Sommelier for a Day

Bistro 110, 110 E. Pearson, is inviting diners to choose the summer wine list at a special "Sommelier for a Day" wine tasting event tonight from 6pm to 9pm. For $30, guests will be guided through a sampling of more than 20 wines, including pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc, pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon, along with hors d'oeuvres. Guests will rank the selections on scorecards, and the Bistro 110 team will tally the scores to determine the highest highest-rated wines in each category, which will then appear on the summer wine list. Tuesdays on the Terrace @ MCA

Kick back at the Museum of Contemporary Art after work. Wander through the exhibits (MCA admission is free Tuesdays) and conclude your evening lounging on the terrace, listening to jazz (the concert starts at 5:30 PM) and enjoying one of the best views in Chicago. "The Stone Horse" @ Millennium Park

SilkRoad Chicago officially ends with this performance of the fable, "The Stone Horse," which is accompanied by 550 Chicago Public School students, members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and (not least) Yo-Yo Ma. 6:30 PM.
