Chicago Outdoor Film Festival
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid will be shown tonight as part of the Chicago Outdoor Film Festival, at Butler Field in Grant Park (at the corner of Monroe and Lake Shore Drive). The film starts at 8:24 p.m., weather permitting.
Movies in the Park
The Chicago Park District presents Movies in the Park, a summer-long screening of classic and contemporary films in Chicago parks. Tonight's screenings: Freedom Writers (PG-13) at Wentworth Gardens Park (3770 S. Wentworth Ave.); and Open Season (PG) at Lake Shore Park (808 N. Lake Shore Dr.). Democracy Burlesque: DB4Kids
Democracy Burlesque -- "where only the politics are naked" -- is a monthly variety show/revue/cabaret/ happening aimed at liberal and progressive artists, fans, and sympathizers. Tonight's show is "DB4Kids: A Show for the Entire Family." The show starts at 8 pm at the No Exit Cafe, 6970 N. Glenwood. Tickets are $10.
Nerds at Heart Anniversary Bash @ The Spot
Nerds at Heart, the site for nerdy people looking for matches, throws a first anniversary bash tonight at The Spot (4437 N. Broadway). The party starts at 7:00 PM. Admission is $15 at the door, $10 in advance; details at the Nerds at Heart Website.
Bam!Galore @ Cultural Center
This evening's performance combines percussive dance from the Indian and American traditions, at 7 PM in the Claudia Cassidy Theater. Preceded (at 6 PM) by a dance preview in the Sidney R.
