The Chicago Park District presents Movies in the Park, a summer-long screening of classic and contemporary films in Chicago parks. Tonight's screenings: The Pursuit of Happyness (PG-13) at Harris Park (6200 S. Drexel Blvd.); Charlotte's Web (G) at Douglas Park Cultural & Community Center (1401 S. Sacramento Ave.); Kicking and Screaming (PG) at Eckhart Park (1330 W. Chicago Ave.); and Daddy's Little Girls (PG-13) at Tuley Park (501 E. 90th Pl). Featuring over 100 artists and musicians, A/V XPLO offers up a variety of sights and sounds, combining music, painting, sculpture, film, video, photography and more. The third night of the four-day event takes place at Subterranean. Brown Couch Theatre Company's fifth annual Ten-Minute Play Festival starts tonight and runs through Sept. 2. This year's ten short plays take place on or around a brown couch. The festival also includes improv sets and staged readings. All the quick and comfy action takes place at the Theatre Building, 1225 W. Belmont.
