Movies in the Park: Tochar y Luchar

The Chicago Park District presents Movies in the Park, a summer-long screening of classic and contemporary films in Chicago parks. Tonight's screening: Tocar y Luchar (To Play to Fight) at the Indian Boundary Park & Cultural Center (2500 W. Lunt Ave.). The screening starts tonight at dusk, and is free and open to the public. Flat Iron Open Studios

The artists of the Flat Iron Building in Wicker Park open their studios to the public this evening from 6 PM to 10 PM. Studios will also be open tomorrow from 12 N to 9 PM and Sunday from 12 N to 6 PM. 1579 N Milwaukee, free. For more information, visit the website.

Midnight Yoga @ Bloom Studio

Looking for an interesting alternative to the loud, smoky bar scene? Do something good for yourself and participate in a candlelight yoga class accompanied by live music. It's a much better way to celebrate the start of your weekend. 10:30pm-Midnight at 4663 N. Rockwell. Iron Chef Morimoto at Kendall College

Chef Masaharu Morimoto, star of both Iron Chef incarnations, will appear at Kendall College from 2:00 to 4:00 PM today to promote his new cookbook and demonstrate his chops. For $39, you can watch his demonstrations, eat some of his food, drink some wine, and get his autograph on your Wüsthof. More details and the sign-up form are on the ChicaGourmets site.

Game Over @ Cultural Center

Talk about geeky! As part of the Art of Play, the city's summer-long celebration of toys, games, and the spirit of play, the Ohm Multimedia Series is presenting this evening of video game music and visual art. Windy City Wine Festival

Taste over 250 wines at this year's festival, held at Daley Bicentennial Plaza in Grant Park. In addition to tastings, wine seminars, cooking demonstrations, live music and food from restaurants such as Rosebud and Sullivan's Steakhouse will be offered. The festival runs from 4 to 10 pm Friday and 2 to 10 pm Saturday, and tickets are $25. More information can be found at the event website.

German American Fest

Lincoln Square hosts its 87th(!) annual German American Fest this weekend at corner of Lincoln and Leland Aves. As if you needed an excuse to drink lots of beer and eat loads of brats.

The Von Steuben Parade will start on Saturday at 2 p.m. and will go down Lincoln Ave between Irving Park and Lawrence.
