Quite the show for such a small venue. Two very worthwhile bands tonight at The Empty Bottle - Dr. Dog and Apollo Sunshine. 8 p.m. Dr. Dog also plays at the Apple store at 1 p.m.
Democracy Burlesque -- "where only the politics are naked" -- is a monthly variety show/revue/cabaret/ happening aimed at liberal and progressive artists, fans, and sympathizers. Tonight's show, "Elephantitis," considers the GOP and its presidential candidates. The show starts at 8 pm at the No Exit Cafe, 6970 N. Glenwood. Tickets are $10.

"Magical Sack of Dump," the brainchild of Matt Besser, one of the founding (and perhaps most handsome) members of the Upright Citizens Brigade, plays at the Lakeshore Theater tonight as part of the UCB-hosted weekly series. Performances are at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.
