Regressive Films presents the premiere of You Weren't There, a documentary chronicling the history of Chicago punk from 1977 to 1984. Among the bands featured in the film will be Naked Raygun, The Effigies, Big Black, Subverts, Tutu & the Pirates, Savage Beliefs, End Result and many more. The film screens tonight at 7:30 PM at the Portage Theater (4050 N. Milwaukee). Tickets are $10. After the screening head on over to the Beat Kitchen for a show featuring some of the bands in the film: The Mentally Ill, Negative Element, End Result, and other surprises.
