World of Chocolate Benefit

Do you have both a sweet tooth and a heart of gold? Then get on over to the AIDS Foundation of Chicago's annual World of Chocolate fundraiser! More than 30 of the city's finest chocolatiers will be mixing up batches of tasty humanitarianism from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hilton Chicago, 720 South Michigan Avenue. Individual tickets are $75 in advance, $100 at the door.

Hunchback Opens @ Redmoon

Redmoon Theater remounts Hunchback, its critically acclaimed retelling of Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, with its signature puppets, acrobats, masks, and funny creepiness. Tickets are $15, and the show runs through January 20 at Redmoon Central, 1463 W. Hubbard.

Local Designer Meet and Greet @ Studio-808

Studio-808 is hosting an event for all those holiday shoppers. VIVISYS @ Extension Gallery for Architecture

The Vivisys installation is an experimental double-curved lattice vault that plays host to an extraordinary cluster of rapidly prototyped aluminum and acrylic barnacles. Three-dimensional auroras of blue electron emitting cold cathode tubes respond to interactions from their environment. VIVISYS synthesizes patterns of the organic and the manufactured into a new creative paradigm for energy, form and matter. The exhibition also includes a series of models, drawings and videos that document four recent experimental projects by Future Cities Lab such as Super Galaxy II, Kowloon Urban Archipelagos, Robotic Ecologies, and the Urban Energy Farm, a competition entry for the Seoul Performing Arts Center in Korea (awarded Second Prize). Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament @ Westin Chicago River North Hotel

Chicago Sun-Times columnist and "At the Movies" host Richard Roeper, former Chicago Bear Chris Zorich and Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulis host this benefit in support of Chicago's only all-boys charter public school, Urban Prep Academy. Participants play Texas Hold 'Em and match wits with Chicago's media, entertainment, sports, civic, and corporate stars, while competing for a prize pool valued at more that $10,000. Shriver Center 2007 Awards Dinner @ Hilton Chicago

The Shriver Center 2007 Awards Dinner celebrates 40 years of commitment to improving the lives of low-income workers, advancing families toward economic security, and creating communities of opportunity.
