Crispin Hellion Glover @ Music Box

After the disturbing cinematic experience that was What Is It?, Crispin Hellion Glover returns to Chicago's historic Music Box Theatre with his latest cinematic offering, It Is Fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE. The second film in his "It" trilogy, you see. Mr. Glover will present the film at the Music Box over the next three days, along with his "Big Slide Show", a book signing, and some Q&A. You can provide the Q, but don't expect too much A. Late Night Andersonville

The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce sponsors Late Night Andersonville tonight. It's a chance to get some deals from neighborhood businesses and start the holiday shopping season off with a bang. A PDF is available on the Chamber's website with a full breakdown of all of the discounts and the evening's festivities (and a coupon!). Festivities start at 3pm, Friday 11/30.

Also available starting tonight at Late Night Andersonville is the special eco-friendly Andersonville shopping bag. For $15, get this tote with "This is not a plastic bag" emblazoned in Swedish and English, and then use it at neighborhood stores for a chance to win big bucks with special scratch-off tickets.

Depart-ment @ AV-aerie

Depart-ment, the quarterly "department store"-style craft show, happens this weekend. This pre-holiday extravaganza features handmade gifts and goodies from more than 120 local and national vendors! The show opens tonight, 7-11 pm, at AV-aerie (formerly open-end), 2000 W. Fulton #310.

The 19th Annual Rock for Kids Charity Auction

Rock for Kids, a nonprofit provider of free music education to Chicago's homeless and in-need children, hosts its annual live and silent auction at 7:30pm on Nov. 30 at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave. Bid on a variety of autographed items from artists such as Debbie Harry, Andrew Bird, Ryan Adams and more. See the Rock for Kids website for details.

WCR Tequila Mockingbird Benefit @ Kuma's

Eat or drink at Kuma's Corner, 2900 W. Belmont, today at help raise money for Tahira "Tequila Mockingbird" Johnson, the Windy City Roller who was paralyzed in a bout earlier this year. The waitstaff of Kuma's will donate all their tips from today to a fund in her name.

Rev. Billy at the Movies

What Would Jesus Buy premieres tonight at the Landmark. And its star, Reverend Billy, will be in the house for the 7pm and 10:15pm screenings this Friday, Nov. 30.

The film takes a hard look at the commercialization of Christmas, globalization and the plight of the American worker -- from the wildly entertaining perspective of Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping.
