Tonight at 9:30, the AV-Aerie (formerly known as the Open End Gallery, 2000 W. Fulton) keeps fans of sickening experimental noise off the streets for the better part of the night, hosting six acts for a measly $5. Ohioans Lambsbread and C. Spencer Yeh comprise 1/3 of the bill, Chicagoans Animal Law and Binges an equal proportion, with California's Skaters and Baltimorean Axolotl (longtime collaborator with Mouthus) also appear. Despite the gallery setting, it's not BYOB, so bring cash for beverages. Full story at Transmission.

The self-described Middle Eastern/Psych/Pop/Snap/Gospel Yeasayer hails from - wait for it! - Brooklyn. (I had you guessing, right?) On their terrific 2007 album, All Hour Cymbals, the band borrows from a multitude of influences (see above) to create the type of lush cacophony that would propel them to Arcade Fire-lite stardom in a perfect world. MGMT, who've been likened to Ween and Muse, open the show. For more information, visit Schubas.
