St Patrick's Day Parade

Today's the day for the annual downtown St Patrick's Day parade. If you need to see the river dyed green, get to the Columbus Avenue or Michigan Avenue bridges by 10:45 a.m. The rest of the fun starts at Columbus and Balbo Drives at 12 noon. Thousands of locals drinking beer and wearing necklaces of plastic green beads never looked better.

Singing Streams Film @ Willie Dixon's Blues Heaven Foundation

Chicago Film Archives and Willie Dixon's Blues Heaven Foundation is proud to present Singing Streams: The Roots of Gospel and Blues, a film exploration of the original delta sounds that over time flowed north to the streets of Chicago. Natalie Zarzour @ Chicago History Museum

The Culinary Historians of Chicago present Natalie Zarzour, pastry chef and co-owner of Andersonville's Pasticceria Natalina, who will give a talk on Sicilian food culture from 10 am to noon at the Chicago History Museum at 1600 N.
