Slow Food Chicago is organizing a tour of Mitsuwa Marketplace, the Arlington Heights grocery store that is a major source of Japanese eats in the Midwest. Event begins at Mitsuwa at 10:30am. Tickets required ($15 for SFC members; nonmembers $20).
Slow Food Chicago is sponsoring a morel hunt and dinner today. For $5, you will be driven to an area outside of the city to pick up the tasty item (bring your knife and a knapsack), and tonight, you can elect to have a specially prepared dinner at Socca (3301 N. Clark) that uses the bounty of your hunt ($60 per person). RSVP required for both events.
