The Veggie Bike and Dine celebrates conscious dining and the diversity of Chicago's neighborhoods while emphasizing the ease of getting around by bicycle. This year's ride partners with NeighborSpace, Chicago's community garden land trust, for a tour of some of the City's finest urban oases. The menus are vegan - entirely plant-based and exclusive of meat, fish, dairy products, eggs and other animal products. Registration is $50 for members and $55 for non-members. Registration opens at 10 a.m. on June 3 at biketraffic.org, and is expected to quickly sell out. The event is Saturday, September 13. Corey Wilkes, local trumpeter on the rise, kicks off the Tuesdays on the Terrace series at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The series has a great start time for folks who work downtown, and what better way to unwind on a Tuesday than seeing a free jazz concert outside while sipping some cocktails? The series features some of Chicago's top talent, a group to which Corey Wilkes rightfully belongs. His forthcoming album Drop It on local Delmark Records promises to be a crossover hit with funk and hip-hop lovers as well as the traditional jazz crowd.
