One Person, One Vote? Reinventing Democracy @ Experimental Station

Part of the Illinois Humanities Council's Public Square series "Looking for Democracy in '08 and Beyond", this critical look at the political process in the U.S. seeks to explore issues such as how democratic things really are and how much our votes really count. The group dal niente performs Dynamics and Gestures at 7pm tonight in the Claudia Cassidy Theater at the Chicago Cultural Center, 77 E. Randolph St. "Made up of 25 charismatic soloists, the ensemble's repertoire is wide-ranging and far-reaching, encompassing everything from Lachenmann to Radiohead. The name dal niente, Italian for 'from nothing,' references the title of the revolutionary and virtuosic piece, Dal niente (Interieur III) for clarinet (1970) by Helmut Lachenmann." Free, all ages.
