Printer's Row Book Fair

Booklovers rejoice! The 2008 Printer's Row Book Fair takes place this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 6pm, between Dearborn and Polk streets. This year's event includes dozens of booksellers and other vendors, author events and much more. Featured authors on Sunday include Augusten Burroughs, Mark Kurlansky and Aleksandar Hemon. 2nd Story: Father's Day @ Webster's Wine Bar

The 2nd Story monthly performance series holds another evening of stories, wine and music tonight at Webster's Wine Bar (1480 W. Webster). The theme of the evening is Father's Day, and among the scheduled artists are Larry Kerns, Deb Lewis, Kimberlee Soo and Khanisha Foster. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Admission is $10. Blues Fest

Blues Fest finishes in Grant Park today. The Petrillo Music Shell will feature Karen Carroll with Charlie Love and special guest Lurrie Bell at 5pm, Magic Slim and the Teardrops at 6:30pm, Little Willie Littlefield at 7:35pm, and B.B. King at 8:15pm in his first Blues Fest appearance since 1988. There are also more performances than we can count on the six other stages: check here for the full schedule. Little City Used Book Sale @ Old Orchard

The Little City Foundation Used Book Sale, which is celebrating its 50th year, takes place at the Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie from June 6-15. The book sale is expected to have more than 200,000 used books, plus author events and other activities. All proceeds from the sale benefit Little City Foundation, which provides services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Free. 10am to 9pm. 34 Old Orchard Shopping Ctr. in Skokie. South Chicago ABA Tryouts @ Broadway Armory

Leave the afro pick and wide lapels at home. This is a more up-to-date American Baksetball Ball association than the one that thrived in the '70s.
