It Came From The Neo-Futurarium: Masters of the Universe

The Neo-Futurists present their seventh annual "film fest" of staged readings of the worst films ever! Tonight's film is the 1980s classic Masters of the Universe, with live-action cartoon characters and everything. It Came From The Neo-Futurarium happens every Thursday night through July 31. Chicago Underwater Hockey @ Various Locations

Have an aversion to ice but an affinity for hockey? The Chicago Underwater Hockey Club has the answer for you (in case the name didn't tip you off). The club features co-ed, non-contact games played in various pools around the city. And if you're a beginner, don't fret. All practices are open to all levels; just let them know in advance you're coming so they can bring extra equpiment. Practices are held Thursdays, 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Kennedy-King College, 6800 S. Wentworth Ave. (the club also uses Northeastern Illinois University and Downers Grove South High School facilities, but those are unavailable until further notice). And the first Sunday of the month is "Rookie Sundays". Contact the club for info.

UCTC Track and Field Meets @ Jackson Park

The University of Chicago Track Club host a weekly open track meet for anyone who wishes to compete in the sprints, long jump, shot put, etc. The meet begins at 6 p.m. every Thursday at the park, 6401 N. Stony Island. Come ready to go: there are not changing facilities other than that big towel you might want to bring with you.

Thursday Night Racing @ Ed Rudolph Velodrome

Not only can you watch some of the top men and women bike racers in the area compete but you can even join in yourself and race on the velodrome, 1500 Maple Ave. in Northbrook. The racing begins at 6:45 p.m.

Beverly Bike Club Weekly Ride

The far South Side cyclers conduct a weekly hour-long ride through the historic neighborhood. Meet up with the group at the Starbucks at 1933 W. 103rd St. at 6:15 p.m.
