Giuseppe Tentori @ Green City Market
Chef Giuseppe Tentori of Boka will be at the Green City Market holding a cooking demo today at 10:30am.
The Visitor screening @ Chicago-Kent College of Law
Heartland Alliance's National Immigrant Justice Center and The Midwest Coalition for Human Rights present a free screening of The Visitor tonight at 5:30 at the Chicago-Kent College of Law (565 W. Meatball Contest and Tasting @ Swedish-American Museum
Enter your family's famous Swedish meatball recipe in the contest or come to the Swedish-American Museum at 5211 N. Clark St. just to taste and vote for your favorite meatball. Celebrity judges will be on hand to award prizes, and a small buffet and refreshments will be served. The event starts at 7 pm. Admission is $20 for members of the museum and $30 for non-members. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 773-728-8111.
Chicago Food Depository's Bag Hunger Auction @ Sheraton
Chefs from area restaurants, among them Susan Goss of West Town Tavern and Ida Pinkney of Ida's, will participate in the Chicago Food Depository's Bag Hunger Auction, tonight at the Sheraton (301 E. North Water), 6pm. Dinner and both a live and silent auction of sports memorabilia, cooking packages and Cubs tickets to follow. Tickets upward of $100 each.
Chicago International Film Festival
The Chicago International Film Festival runs until October 29 at several theaters across the city. Box office is at the AMC River East 21 at Illinois & Fairbanks and the AMC at 600 North Michigan; you can also buy tickets online.
