This is the third and final weekend of storefront theater troupe Brain Surgeon Theater's Post Christmas Spectacular 1976. This tale, written by its cast of children and adult actors, features disco dancing, disco hair and the disco dreams of a teenage girl growing up in small-town Michigan. Playing at Trap Door Theatre, 1655 Cortland Street; Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $10 for kids under 10 and $15 for adults, available online or at the door. Saturday matinee tickets are available for $5.

Devoted to the local hip-hop scene, Chicago Public Radio's Winter Block Party features sets by Chicago DJs Itch13 and Issues, a gallery exhibition of local artists, a live mural painting by acclaimed graffiti artist Revise CMW, and an open-mic session featuring hip-hop performance artist Idris Goodwin and author Kevin Coval. The evening closes with a special ticketed event featuring Bomb the Suburbs-author, graffiti artist, activist, and Chicago native, William "Upski" Wimsatt.
