This illustrated lecture examines the relationship between airplanes and the architectural facilities created to dignify and functionally process the occupants, crew and passengers of aircraft. Zukowsky showcases both commercial and military aviation examples and speculates about the future of air travel. He raises questions that architects may have to answer regarding new airport construction.

Local moody dream-pop outfit Golden Birthday play a special set this evening in the third and latest installment of the Obey Your Brain label's series of free monthly events at Sonotheque. Also scheduled for the evening is a premier listening party for the new Beirut release March Of The Zapotec, which will be released in its U.S. Vinyl edition this month on OYB. The propulsive Baltimore trio Thank You return to Chicago tonight for a headlining set at the AV-aerie. They're currently touring the U.S. after the release of their second LP which released via Thrill Jockey in mid-'08. Tonight's show, however, is the official record-release party for openers Mi Ami, whose compelling debut album Watersports is slated to drop via Touch & Go sister label Quarterstick Records the following week.
