European Union Film Festival @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents the 12th annual European Union Film Festival. Opening night is tonight at 7pm with the 2008 film U Me Dobry (I'm All Good) from the Czech Republic. First Friday: Promoters' Ordinance discussion @ Old Town School

The Old Town School of Folk Music holds their monthly First Friday this evening. Usually an evening of free classes, music and dancing, this month's First Friday is unofficially devoted to the Chicago Promoters' Ordinance, a pending city ordinance that may have a huge effect on the live music community in Chicago. The school will be screening the documentary The Chicago Promoters' Ordinance Kills Independent Music and hosting a discussion about the ordinance which will feature journalists, activists and musicians from the music community. Sex Workers Outreach Project Benefit @ The Wild Pug

In honor of International Sex Worker Rights Day, which was March 3, join SWOP-Chicagoat The Wild Pug (4810 N. Broadway) for their benefit "Fornication!" - A Naughty Soiree of Wilde Delights. The night, which runs from 8pm-2am, includes "naughty booths" of fetish, kissing, chance; raffle prizes; and drink specials.

CIMMFest: Sleeping Nights Awake Screening

Sleeping Nights Awake, a Sonic Youth documentary, will be screening as a part of the Chicago International Movies and Music Festival. This concert documentary was filmed in black and white by a group of high school students in Reno as part of Project Moonshine. The screening takes place at St. Paul's Cultural Center, 2215 W North Ave. The film starts at 9:30pm and will be followed by the premiere of the music video for "More Control" by The Heist & The Accomplice. Alexis Mackenzie Opening @ Threadless Gallery

Collage artist Alexis Mackenzie opens a show of her work at the Threadless Gallery, 3011 N. Broadway, tonight from 7pm to 9pm. Free.

Dan Auerbach @ Metro

Dan Auerbach (one half of the rock duo The Black Keys) plays a solo show tonight at the Metro. Most of the material for tonight's show was written while he was on the road with The Black Keys in support of their last album, Attack & Release.
