Chicago Flower & Garden Show @ Navy Pier
This week-long exhibition, designed to help "aspiring gardeners take it up a notch," includes workshops on container gardening, a marketplace selling garden and green-related products, "garden gourmet" showcasing the culinary talents of both local and national chefs, and a horticulture competition. Hours are 10am-6pm (8pm on during the week) at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Ave., in Festival Halls A and B. Admission is $14 on weekends, $12 on weekdays. CIMMfest: The Greatest Rock Movie Ever
As part of The Chicago International Movies and Music Festival a panel discussion will be held today to determine the greatest rock'n'roll movie ever. Appearing at the panel will be: Chicago Reader film critic J.R. Jones; film historian and author Arnie Bernstein; Sun-Times music critic Jim DeRogatis; Onion film critic Keith Phipps; and festival special guest Lech Kowalski. The discussion happens this afternoon at 3:30pm at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington).
