Asian American showcase @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents the 14th Asian American Showcase, featuring the best recent work from Asian American directors. Interview Show @ The Hideout

Mark Bazer's monthly Interview Show runs tonight at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Guests this month are Anthony Moseley, executive artistic director of Collaboraction; Tito Beveridge, founder of Tito's Handmade Vodka; Anni Rossi, singer-songwriter; and Mark Caro, Chicago Tribune entertainment reporter and author of The Foie Gras Wars. $5 cover, 21 and over.

Ingebrigt Haaker Flaten @ Charleston

The Heartless Bastards @ Bottom Lounge

The Heartless Bastards are touring on the heels of their appearance at sxsw and tonight they make their Chicago stop at Bottom Lounge. You'll find yourself swaying through melodies and guitar riffs one minute, then tapping your boots to the beat the next. Their down-home punk-rock is all brought together by the dynamic vocals of Bastard's leader Erika Wennerstrom. Tonight they are opening for The Gaslight Anthem; Good Old War also opens. 1375 W. RampFest @ Garfield Park Conservatory

It's time to celebrate spring with...ramps! Glorious ramps! RampFest , a tribute to the first partygoer to the spring growing season, is tonight at the Garfield Park Conservatory from 7-9:30pm. Ramp-heavy dishes by chefs such as Paul Virant (Vie), Paul Kahan (Blackbird), and Carrie Nahabedian (Naha) are on the menu, along with a silent and live auction. Journalist and Cattle Rancher Bill Kurtis will be there, too. Event benefits The Land Connection. Tickets $75-125.

Livewire Theatre's "Wonder of the World" @ The Side Project 8pm

Livewire Theatre performs its Jeff Recommended version of Wonder of the World by David Linsday Abaire.

From The Onion: "The story follows thirtysomething Cass as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery after making a shocking discovery in her husband's sweater drawer. She ends up in Niagara Falls, and the zany events that follow include encounters with bickering detectives, a suicidal alcoholic, a lonely tourboat captain, and an enormous jar of peanut butter."
