The city of Chicago is hosting the second annual Play Ball,Chicago! tomorrow at Daley Plaza. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. Daley Plaza is located at 50 W. Washington St.
Admission is free with activities ranging from inflatables baseballs, photo booths with backgrounds of Wrigley Field and U.S. Cellular Field, batting cages, speed pitch machines, as well as free giveaways. For more information click here.
The Chicago Cultural Center will be ablaze with chatter today at the Chicago Food Policy Summit, which runs 8:30am-5pm. Discussions about labor, food access, school programs are on the schedule, along with an appearance by guest speaker Rick Bayless. Tickets $20.
Susan E. Alcock, Professor of Classics and the Director for the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University will deliver a lecture entitled "Utility of Surveillance: Case Studies and Observations" in the University of Chicago's Cochrane-Woods Art Center, 5540 South Greenwood Avenue, Room 157.
