Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard @ Schubas
Anti-folk sensation and comic book artist Jeffrey Lewis will be at Schubas tonight. Lewis is known for incorporating his comic art along with his songs and taking us on long musical journeys that educate about the history of punk rock and crazy making acid trips. Scrabble Night @ The Coffee Studio
Andersonville's The Coffee Studio hosts its monthly Scrabble Night tonight between 6:30 and 8:30pm. Boards and dictionaries will be provided -- just show up and you'll be matched with someone of similar skill level. All levels are welcome, from beginner to certified Word Freak. Prizes will be awarded for high scores. The Coffee Studio is located at 5628 N Clark St.
Encyclopedia Show @ Chopin Theatre - Mythical Beasts
Melding visual art, comedy, music and spoken word, the Encyclopedia Show from Young Chicago Authors brings together creative and quirky Chicago stars for a new show each month. "Mythical Beasts" takes over the Chopin Theatre on June 3, and brings together big names to take on the chupacabra, banshee, chimera, centaur, and even the ever-so-creepy vagina dentata. Chopin Theatre, 1543 W Division, 7pm. Tickets $5 at the door. BYOB. All ages.
