Gapers Block Book Club Meeting

This month's meeting of the Gapers Block Book Club takes place tonight at The Book Cellar at 4736-8 N. Lincoln Ave., where we will be discussing Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. St. Vincent/Alla @ Millennium Park

Annie Clark, who does business as St. Vincent, wrote much of her new album, "Actor," by drawing, not playing. Mainly a guitarist, Clark began the album in a French hotel room in December of 2007, using GarageBand software and a pair of headphones, "drawing notes one by one, until they sounded how they should sound." Opening for her is Chicago-based Mexican-American three piece Allá. This concert is part of Downtown Sound: New Music Mondays--a unique series bringing some the freshest "news making" artists and groundbreaking rock veterans to the world renowned Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Concert starts at 6:30pm.
