The Cheddar, The Better

Tuesdays on the Terrace @ MCA
If you like jazz, or you just like being outside on a beautiful Chicago summer afternoon, then make your way to the Museum of Contemporary Art for "Tuesdays on the Terrace." Have a seat on the terrace for a closer look, or bring a blanket and some friends to the lawn and take in the sounds of some of the city's most talented jazz musicians. They bring in all types of jazz artists throughout the summer, from classic standards to improvisation. Tonight's artist is Julia Huff. The MCA is located at 220 East Chicago Ave. "Tuesdays on the Terrace" runs through September 22 every Tuesday from 5:30pm-8pm.
Invent the Future Workshop @ College of Lake County Southlake Campus
How should the region plan for the year 2040? This summer, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will hold dozens of free public workshops called GO TO 2040 "Invent the Future". Information you contribute at these meetings will help CMAP develop a preferred scenario that will best reflect the region's desired future. Boston-bred, socio-political lyricist Mr. Lif devastates the Abbey Pub (3420 West Grace) tonight alongside DJ Statik, Willie Evans Jr. and Grieves.
