Everyman: The Classic Rock Ballet @ Vittum Theater

Innervation Dance Cooperative's Classic Rock Ballet Everyman, with an all-female cast and 100% Led Zeppelin soundtrack, tells the allegory of Everyman. We enter on her live-for-the-moment life just before she receives a visit from Death, and our heroine begs to be given more time. She spends the rest of the ballet searching for a companion for the inevitable journey. IDC has retained the message of the medieval morality play -- to take stock of one's life, to make choices based on how you define a life well lived -- while telling a story with moments of humor, an enormous amount of love, emotional highs and lows, and a sense of catharsis. The music of Led Zeppelin emphasizes the epic nature of the story, while providing the dancers and the audience a reason to rock!
Vittum Theater, 1012 N. Noble, 8:00 p.m. Running all weekend. Special pricing for tonight only: $5 plus a roll of the dice. Or go here for tickets and more info.
