Absinthe Tasting @ Delilah's

After being banned for decades, absinthe is back on the market with a vengeance. As part of their Vincent Van Gogh Birthday celebration, Delilah's (2771 N. Lincoln) is hosting an absinthe tasting tonight where you'll be able to sample all of the 16 brands of absinthe available in the U.S. market. Several producers and reps will be on hand as well. How should the region plan for the year 2040? This summer, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will hold dozens of free public workshops called GO TO 2040 "Invent the Future". Information you contribute at these meetings will help CMAP develop a preferred scenario that will best reflect the region's desired future. Tuesdays on the Terrace : Fred Lonberg-Holm @ MCA

If you like jazz, or you just like being outside on a Chicago summer afternoon, then make your way to the Museum of Contemporary Art for "Tuesdays on the Terrace." Have a seat by the band on the terrace, or bring a blanket and some friends to the lawn and take in the sounds of some of the city's most talented jazz musicians. Tonight's artist is Fred Lonberg-Holm. 220 East Chicago Ave. 5:30pm-8pm. Free.

Olympic Day @ North Avenue Beach

Celebrate the 115th anniversary of the birth of the modern Olympic Movement at North Avenue Beach with a 3-Mile Fun Run and Celebration Party. Choose from one of two courses--the first starts at Irving Park and the Lake Shore Path. The second starts at Balbo Drive and the Lake Shore Path. Both begin at 6pm and end at North Avenue Beach, where there will be a party with other sports competitions and demonstrations. Register for the runs here. Free.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding: Movies in the Park

My Big Fat Greek Wedding is the first of three movies being screened at Uihlein Plaza, in the park behind the Chicago History Museum this summer -- each features famous Chicago landmarks and neighborhoods. Admission is free, you're encouraged to bring your own picnic, and the movie starts at dusk. More information is available on the museum's website.
