Scrabble Night @ The Coffee Studio

Andersonville's The Coffee Studio hosts its monthly Scrabble Night tonight between 6:30 and 8:30pm. Boards and dictionaries will be provided -- just show up and you'll be matched with someone of similar skill level. All levels are welcome, from beginner to certified Word Freak. Prizes will be awarded for high scores. The Coffee Studio is located at 5628 N Clark St.

Portrait of a Palace at Chicago Architecture Foundation

The Chicago Architecture Foundation, 24 S. Michigan Ave., screens Portrait of a Palace, a documentary about the Uptown Theater, at 12:15pm today, accompanied by a discussion of the theater's history and its planned renovation by Friends of the Uptown's Andy Pierce and Jam Productions founder Jerry Mickelson. WBEZ Geek Out @ Navy Pier

WBEZ opens its doors for a "Geek Out" at its Navy Pier studios (848 E. Grand Ave.) tonight from 6pm to 10pm. Meet staffers and tour the studios, eat pizza from Piece and drink Goose Island beverages, and listen to Sound Opinions hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot DJ. There's also a raffle at 8:30pm. Free! Bon Cop, Bad Cop @ Chicago Cultural Center

Cinema/Chicago, the presenter of the Chicago International Film Festival, once again is teaming up with Chicago's various consulates and cultural organizations to present the sixth annual International Summer Screening Program at the Chicago Cultural Center (77 E. Randolph Street).

Today's screening of Bon Cop, Bad Cop is presented by the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago. After the body of a hockey executive washes up on the border of Ontario and Québec, two very different cops from both provinces are forced to work together to solve the murder. .

Admission is free and seating is on a first come, first served basis. Screening starts at 6:30pm. There will be a post-screening discussion with Ron Falzone, a Film & Video professor at Columbia College Chicago.

Chefs from the Weber Grill Restaurant will give a cooking demonstration today at 10:30am at the Green City Market, Stockton and LaSalle Drives.
