Renegade Craft Fair
Another outdoor go for the Renegade Craft Fair. Hopefully this one won't end up a mess of wet yarn and umbrellas. This year the renowned DIY craft show is located on Division St. between Damen & Hermitage in Wicker Park. Entry to the fair is free. The booths will be open from 11 am-7 pm today.
Lebowski Fest
Bowl, drive around, and have an acid flashback: The Big Lebowski hits us today through Tuesday with bowling, burlesque, and of course the film itself. See the site for locations and times.
Boulevard Lakefront Tour
Active Transportation Alliance holds its annual Boulevard Lakefront Tour today, which starts at 7:30am at the Midway Plaisance in Hyde Park, guiding 15-75 mile bike tours for people looking to see the city from a whole new viewpoint: their bike. Support wagons, rest stops, a post-ride festival sponsored by Goose Island and a t-shirt are yours with your $30 registration.
57th St. Children's Book Fair
The theme of this year's 57th St. Children's Book Fair is "Buried Treasure: Dig in and Discover Books!" The Fair is presented in conjunction with the Field Museum's Real Pirates exhibition. Featured authors include Jennifer L. Holm, author of the Babymouse series, Arthur Yorinks and Richard Egielski, two picture book authors, Andrea Beaty, Ilene Cooper, Matthew Cordell and more. Second Annual Adobofest @ LaBagh Woods
The Filipino American Network of Chicago presents Adobofest, a friendly cooking competition that asks whose adobo reigns supreme in Chicago? A $5 donation buys you the chance to sample the contestants and vote for the winner. Taking place at the LaBagh Woods Preserve (enter at the intersection of W. Foster and N.
