Kitchen Chicago, Chicago's premiere co-op professional kitchen has gotten a new space in the West Loop (324 N. Leavitt). They're getting settled in and will be having an open house today from 3pm to 7pm. Whether you're interested in starting a food business, looking for a space to rent for an event, or just like fantastic food and want to meet some independent makers of fine food, show up at the Leavittown Lofts and follow the signs to their new space.
Dr. L. Subramaniam & Kavita Krishnamurti with The Leipzig Philharmonic Orchestra present Freedom Symphony for World Peace Songs of India & Mendelssohn Symphony No. 5. The Freedom Symphony, written by Subramaniam for the Washington Philharmonic to recognize 60 years of Indian independence, has only been performed in select venues in India. The composition, written in Sanskrit, Hindi, Bengali and Tamil, has excerpts from writings by Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore.
