UIC hosts Re-Thinking Soup, a free weekly lunch where participants eat soup cooked from ingredients found at Hull House's urban gardens and chat about an assortment of topics. Event runs today from noon-1:30p at Hull House, 800 South Halsted.
A special edition of the Orange Alert Reading Series as OA partners with The Nervous Breakdown. The reading starts at 7pm and as always is free.

If you like jazz, or you just like being outside on a Chicago summer afternoon, then make your way to the Museum of Contemporary Art for "Tuesdays on the Terrace." Have a seat by the band on the terrace, or bring a blanket and some friends to the lawn and take in the sounds of some of the city's most talented jazz musicians.
