First exhibited at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award for Best Documentary, "Hoop Dreams" is the remarkable true story of two American dreamers on the courts of the game they love. Excerpts from the film will be shown, along with clips of "No Crossover" and "Bring You're 'A' Game." Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion led by SWYC and BMB 2025. The film will be screened at Columbia College Chicago, home of the Michael Rabiger Center for Documentary Film.

Atlas Sound @ Bottom Lounge

The lead singer of Deerhunter brings his side project to the Bottom Lounge (1375 W. Lake) tonight, who describe his music as "a largely ambient meditation on romantic obsession full of densely layered electronics and guitars that sound as if they were beamed in from some haunted parallel universe." Market Fresh Mixology at Drinks Over Dearborn

About a year ago I reviewed Market-Fresh Mixology by Bridget Albert. She'll be at Drinks Over Dearborn (650 N. Dearborn St.) tonight for a breast cancer fundraiser from 7-8:30 pm. Entrance is $25, $5 will get donated to fund breast cancer research, and you'll get to sample some refreshingly original cocktails that taste like Fall.
