Hawksley Workman @ Schubas

Toronto-based Hawksley Workman will be performing at Schubas on Sunday, October 25th. Critics have compared Workman to Tom Waits, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury, and is the recipient of numerous Juno awards - the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys. Fundraiser for a Farmers Market @ The Glenwood Bar

Help Rogers Park and the 49th Ward get a Sunday farmer's market at the Morse Red Line stop by attending this fundraiser at the Glenwood Bar. The event, titled "Market Dazed", benefits the proposed 2010 Glenwood Sunday Market. 2pm -6pm at The Glenwood Bar, 6962 N. Glenwood Ave. (just north of the Morse stop on the Red Line). $35 in advance. $40 at the door. Tickets. Your ticket price includes tastings of organic, local, biodynamic wine, spirits, and beers. Food tastings will include crepes, cheeses, chocolates, tofu, gelato, and much more. Enjoy local music by Tom Jones, Ron Scroggin, and Anita Chase (Half Mad Poet). Observe live art demonstrations by Andrew De la Rosa, John Bambino, Annette Jackson, Henry Thompson, and Patricia Woods.
