Peirce Elementary 3rd Annual Fundraiser @ Hopleaf
The Peirce School of International Studies' (aka Pierce Elementary) Multilingual Parent Teacher Student Organization is holding its 3rd annual fundraiser today at Hopleaf (5148 N. Clark St.). The event includes an all-you-can-eat buffet at two seatings. The first, from 10:30 AM-noon, features a silent auction, and the second, from 12:30-1:30 PM, features a raffle. Tickets are $25, and proceeds will go to funding arts education programs currently not in the school's budget. Tour of Anthony Elm's Art & Ephemera Collection
Anthony Elms is the assistant director of Gallery 400, the editor of WhiteWalls, an artist, and a writer. Anthony Elms' collection includes show invites, correspondence, museum brochures, exhibition posters, self-produced posters and broadsheets, postcards, clothing, DVDs, mail art, knickknacks, LPs, scribbles, CDs and doodads. The full collection is listed here. Meet at threewalls gallery (119 N. Peoria, #2D) at 2pm. From there, the group will take the train out to Elm's home, where he will introduce his collection and participants will be given time to peruse the materials.
