School of the Art Institute Holiday Art Sale

Today and tomorrow, you'll be able to pick up some great art, jewelry, fashion accessories and paper designs at the School of the Art Institute's annual Holiday Art Sale. Look for one-of-a-kind gifts or discover the next great art superstar. The sale also gives the artists a little pocket money--they earn 85% of the proceeds from each piece they sell, with the SAIC getting a 15% commission. OTL Anniversary Party @ Toons Bar and Grill

OutsideTheLoopRadio.com, whose Chicago-interest audio magazine podcast and WLUW radio show is celebrating its third year on the air Friday, Nov. 20 with a live taping at Toons Bar and Grill. The event is free with some quite interesting guests stopping by.

OTL host Mike Stephen will begin the show with DJ Goldie G at 8pm for an hour-long taping with conversations featuring Chicago Reader writer and editor, Mick Dumke; representatives from The Parking Ticket Geek; GLBT podcast, Feast of Fun host Fausto Fernos; owner of Toons Bar and Grill, Danny Beck; and local culinary blogger, Andrea Newberry.

The show will air on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 at 10am at WLUW-FM (88.7), streamed at wluw.org. The event itself is free but is 21-and-up admittance with WLUW and OTL swag giveaways galore.

All Tomorrow's Parties @ Facets

What would a summer camp with Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, and a dozen other musicians feel like? The new documentary All Tomorrow's Parties gives us normal people a little insight as to what it would be like through an All Tomorrow's Parties event. Featuring some of the coolest bands on the planet, the film chronicles the festival's recent history through the eyes of musicians, concert goers, and filmmakers.
All Tomorrow's Parties screens at Facets Cinematheque and the event is co-hosted by Pitchfork Media. Screening starts at 11:30pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Facets box office or online.

TyK's Gala-Gallery Release Party @ Mars Gallery

TyK's popular sexy cyclists calendar is out again- the release party will feature large prints of the cyclists- pinups of the ladies and superhero portraits of the men. You can buy a calendar there, or at the TyK website. All proceeds go to the Chicago Women's Health Center. There will be free cocktails and prints for sale at the party. Mars Gallery: 1139 W. Eye of the Sandman Screening and Discussion @ Gene Siskel Film Center

Just days before her wedding, a one-eyed bride-to-be develops an obsession for a mysterious stranger that may cost her her marriage, her home, and her other eye. Family secrets, forbidden desires, and squeaky gears collide in this eccentric riff on ETA Hoffman's 19th century story, 'Der Sandmann.' Reality, Whatever That is Opening @ Western Exhibitions

Artist Nicholas Frank's Reality, Whatever That is show opens at Western Exhibitions tonight. Joe Hardesty's new work will be on display in gallery 2. The opening is at Western Exhibitions: 119 N. Peaches @ the Metro

Peaches is back! The sexy superstar takes electronica and adds a ton of glam and burlesque. Her last album I Feel Cream let us see her softer side, but she still is the raving sex maniac that made us fall in love with her. Be prepared to dance, be amazed and to think "Did she really just say that?" She plays tonight at the Metro. Opening is electronic rap artist Amanda Blank.
