Fleet Feet Turkey Trot 8K
If you want to run off that turkey and stuffing before you eat, you can still register in person at the race (or through 11/25 @ Fleet Feet's Piper's Alley store) for the 32nd Annual Turkey Trot 8K in Lincoln Park near the zoo. Registration fee is $30 (before raceday) or $35 (on raceday, cash only) or $12/$15 for the kids Plymouth Rock Rumble (ages 2-14). Full details.
Feast for the Beasts @ Brookfield Zoo
Visit the Brookfield Zoo today at noon and watch the animals enjoy their own Thanksgiving Feast at the Children's Zoo. Free with admission ($12/$8 kids). Directions.
13th Annual Edison Park Turkey Trot 5K
You can still register in person for this fun run in Chicago's Edison Park neighborhood. The 13th Annual Edison Park Turkey Trot 5K gets going at 9:30am (registration 8-9am, kids races start 8:20am). Though they're closed Friday (along with a lot of other Chicago Park District locations) visit the Garfield Park Conservatory today for a pleasant (and warm!) stroll among beautiful architecture and plants. They're located at 300 N. Central Park Ave., Chicago. 312-746-5100. FREE
