Benefit for the Whale @ Co-Prosperity Sphere

In December an electrical fire destroyed the Whale, home of the utopian secret society/art collective, The Order of the Lamprey. All three Pilsen artists and their pets survived, but now they need to pay bills, rebuild, and above all, return to their former glory. To help, Lumpen Magazine is throwing a party, with a suggested donation of $10. Bands performing include Black Nag, Thin Man, Son of Cops (ex-Drapes), Members Only (80s glitter covers), and DJaded. This show's also a release party for the special 114th issue of Lumpen, "Looking for Answers." The magazine is free upon entry. The party will go from 9pm-2am at Co-Prosperity Sphere: 3219 S. Morgan, Bridgeport.

Blogger Industry Night @ Millennium Park Skate Rink

Explore Chicago, Gapers Block, the Printers Ball and the Chicago Publishers Gallery present an evening of mingling and ice skating for local bloggers tonight at the Park Grill and Millennium Park Ice Rink. From 7 to 11pm, join other bloggers out on the ice, and warm up in the Park Grill with complimentary apps and a cash bar. More info and RSVP on Facebook.
