The mad video archiving geniuses behind the video blog Everything Is Terrible! return to Chicago for an evening of the worst video you've ever seen. The show takes place tonight at 8pm at the Hungry Brain (2319 W. Belmont, near Western) and admission is free.
If you missed Miike Snow supporting Lykke Li last year, you won't want to miss their headlining show at Metro (3730 N. Clark St.) tonight. The Swedish group doesn't make it across the pond very often so if you can find tickets to this sold out show, do it. Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm. Check out Metro's website for more information. [Note: An additional Sunday night show was added.]
Local comic book artist and designer Ezra Claytan Daniels teams up with chamber group Fifth House Ensemble for an original illustrated story/live music event: through sounds and pictures, Black Violet details the story of a cat, Violet, during the last major outbreak of the Black Plague. This is the last act in the series, previous episodes can be viewed here. 7pm, Cassidy Theatre (78 E. Washington), free.
Andrea Zittel is an artist most well-known for her "Living Units"-- pod-like structures that contained everything the artist needed to live in a compact space. Her work is part of the Production Site, the exhibition at the MCA (220 East Chicago Avenue) that explores the artist's studio. She is speaking at 6pm about creating work in her studio, which is in the California desert.
